When manufacturing our salt and pepper mills, some of the wood is discarded during the many quality control phases if it contains minor visual imperfections. However, the exceptional wood still retains its intrinsic qualities, which makes it suitable for upcycling.  The body of the pepper mill is then sand blasted to create a textured finish and protected with a plant-based varnish. This process reveals the wood's natural, unique contours and gives this manual pepper mill its distinctive look.
